Internet Protest in Turkey

Turkish riot police have fired tear gas and water cannons to disperse more than 2,000 people demonstrating against new internet restrictions late on Saturday. At least one woman, who appeared to be a member of the press, was injured in the unrest. Protesters hurled fireworks and stones at police around Istanbul's Taksim Square. The legislation, passed on Wednesday by parliament, would allow authorities to block websites deemed to infringe on privacy without a court decision. Internet providers would also be forced to keep users' data and make them available to authorities. Channel "RT TV" http://rt.com/in-motion/turkey-riot-p...
