Living Faithfully in God’s Promise of Immortality 1st Reading - Wis 2:23–3:9 Gospel - Lk 17:7-10 In the first reading, we are reminded that God created humanity for incorruption and destined us for eternal life. Death entered the world through sin, but the souls of the just are in the hands of God, safe from torment and fear. Even when tested by suffering, the righteous shine like gold purified in fire, revealing the depth of their faith. This passage assures us that God’s justice is eternal and that His faithful ones will share in everlasting peace. In the Gospel, Jesus teaches about humble service through the parable of the servant. He reminds His followers that doing God’s will is not about seeking recognition or reward but about faithful obedience. True discipleship means serving with humility, knowing that every act of love is a response to God’s grace. This message calls us to embrace a servant’s heart, finding joy in serving God simply because He is worthy. Together, these readings remind us that our faith is both a gift and a responsibility. God promises eternal life to those who live in righteousness, and we express our gratitude through humble and selfless service. Our lives gain meaning when we serve without expectation, trusting that our reward is found in God Himself. By living faithfully and humbly, we prepare our souls for the eternal joy He has promised. Today, I will serve others with humility and gratitude, remembering that all I have is a gift from God. I will do good without expecting praise, finding joy in simply fulfilling God’s will. I will trust that every act of faithfulness draws me closer to His eternal promise. I will live each moment with the quiet confidence that the souls of the just are forever secure in His love.
