TOPIC: HOW DO WE REACT WHEN WE FEEL BETRAYED BY OTHERS? First Reading: Isaiah 49: 1-6 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 71: 1-2, 3-4a, 5ab-6ab, 15 and 17 Gospel: John 13: 21-33, 36-38 Have we ever felt betrayed by anyone? Whether it is from your own experience or another's, one can always justify their feeling of anger and hatred towards people who were unjust to them, because by both human and divine standards, one is entitled to a better treatment from people, especially if they are very close and dear to him or her. Jesus knows very well this feeling. Two of His closest friends, Judas and Peter, openly betrayed Him, remember? And the rest? They went in hiding after His death. But let us also recall how Jesus handled these betrayals. How can we be like Jesus when faced with betrayal? This is the 1087th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our sister Evelyn Ylagan, CFC HOLD International Coordinator, as she brings us today's reflection. All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
