There are two size filters to choose from, you have a standard Metal filter and a Fine Metal filter. These also come in a set with both, if you can’t decide. The metal disks allow filtration to hold back the grinds but also let the coffee’s natural oils to get through the filter into your mug. Paper filters are more likely to hold the oils back. These coffee oils can be very aromatic and are often responsible for the most fascinating flavours in coffee. The addition of the oils to your brew also gives your coffee a fuller mouthfeel to the cup. The major difference between the two Able filters is that the fine disk will filter out more of the smallest particles from your coffee, leaving a super smooth, clean cup - whereas the Standard filter will produce a heavier, more full bodied cup of coffee, letting through some more of those fines. The thickness to each filter differs also along with the hole size and amount of holes across the surface.. with the Fine filter being quite flexible - you’ll want to protect it from any possible over-bending or breakage whilst storing. Whereas the Standard Filter is a little more robust and perfect for travelling with. To use the Able Disk, Simply prepare your AeroPress the same way as you normally would.. But swap out the paper filter for the Able Disk. Now it's often recommended to grind as a different grind setting with using metal disks, you 'll find you can grind finer using a metal disk but I suggest you grind as you normally would those first few brews using a metal disk that way you get a better understanding of how the Metal Disk changes the flavour of your preferred brewing method. The filters are easy to clean with a rinse under water, just be sure you don’t pop it out into the bin and forget! Now the Able Brewing disks can be used back-to-back in brewing once rinsed off without losing efficiency in filtration and store quite conveniently away in the Aeropress cap, which saves space. #alternativebrewing #ablebrewing #aeropress
