The impact of prenatal opiate exposure on the young child is just now beginning to be understood. Woven throughout this research is the realization that multiple factors mediate the impact of opiates on the exposed child’s neurologic and behavioral development. This session will focus on the impact of prenatal opiate exposure on early childhood learning and behavior and intervention strategies that can promote long-term growth and development of the prenatally exposed child.
