Venusaur - Red's starter Pokemon from Oak who has been both great to use & influential to the team composition In the manga, Blue had already picked Charmander, and Blue had stolen Squirtle; leaving Bulbasaur Red accidentally released Bulbasaur, and bonded with it upon retrieving it and battling a wild Machoke Venusaur was a stable/core member among Red's team with the 3 being: Pikachu/Venusaur/Poliwrath These Pokemon had been with Red since Volume 1 & often receive the most screen-time moving on Venusaur is the best Gen 1 starter Pokemon in Gen 1, and it was evident while using one this time Grass beats the first 2 Gyms, resists Electric/3rd, & helps clear Givoanni's team for the 8th badge Gyms 4-7 are bad matchups for Venusaur but can be easily covered with other team members Razor Lead always criting was really nice as well as it is Venusaur's most spammable move Leech Seed is also nice for Hp-tick damage & recovery as well, coupled with Mega Drain Solarbeam & Petal Dance are great high-BP moves that have a cost but can win some matchups with ease Venusaur doesn't really get any Poison type moves, so the typing is more advantageous for defensive reasons All in all my Venu all knew Grass-type moves & functioned well as a Grass-Attacker This was a very cool experience to use Venusaur in Gen 1, especially in the spirit of Red I had a great time with him on the team & can't say there is much wrong with it I highly recommend using it if you haven't before, as it also evolves really early (Rock Tunnel for me) S/o to Red's Venusaur in the manga and s/o to my very own & raised Venusuar as it is a cool Pokemon #pokemonred #pokemonadventuresredchapter #pokemonadventures #venusaur #saur #grasstype #grasstypepokemon #poisontype #poisontypepokemon #bulbasaur #manga #pokemonmanga #championbattle #elitefour #pokemonblue #pokemonplaythrough #pokemonmanga #pokemonchampion #professoroak #kanto #victory
