Philosophically, how can anyone declare they believe every member of a group without sounding ridiculous, unethical, and politically opportunistic? They can’t! However, considering a parallel movement to Black Lives Matter, the ‘Believe Women’ movement, it is understandable how some might be overzealous about transcending the historical tendency to doubt women’s words. Unfortunately enough women throughout history, the Amy Coopers, Carolyn Bryants, Susan Smiths of the world remind us how preposterous it really is to take any movement’s philosophy too literally. When we do it often results in deaths from those lies. This video speaks truth to power about absolute power retaining its ability to corrupt absolutely.
