Summer | Bill's Town • The Woods • Safehouse • Graveyard • High School Escape Joel takes Ellie to Bill's town, to cash in on favors owed. The town is boobytrapped, and Bill lives alone in the town. They find Bill, and he is talked in to helping them get a battery for a car to get to Tommy's - by this point Tommy is in Jackson already. The 3 of them meet the first Bloater of the game, presented as a bit of a boss fight, in a gymnasium of a high school. The vehicle with a battery they were after is already taken/empty. They find the battery in a different truck, in a house where Bill reveals his partner was another man. Joel expresses sympathies, but Bill just pretty much kicks them out of the way/out of the town. It is unknown whatever fate Bill has, though he is last seen alive.
