Al Jolson - Liza (All the Clouds'll Roll Away) (1929)

Charted at #9 in 1929. Introduced by Ruby Keeler (Jolson's wife at the time) in the Florenz Ziegfeld theatrical musical, "Show Girl". On opening night, Al Jolson, sitting in the audience, surprised everyone by suddenly standing up and singing "Liza" to Ruby during the finale. This proved to be so successful that he repeated it during other performances as well. Recorded July 25, 1929. Written by George Gershwin, Ira Gershwin and Gus Kahn. The other side of this record is "One Sweet Kiss".
