Only the first Pokemon encountered in each area is eligible to be captured. This rule does not include static Pokemon and gift Pokemon 3. Any Pokemon that faints is considered dead and must be boxed or released! 4. Shiny clause. A shiny Pokemon is a gift From Arceus and may be captured regardless of if it is the first Pokemon encountered in the area 5. Species Clause. You may re-roll your first encounter if the first Pokemon encountered is of the same evolutionary line as a Pokemon that you have previously captured.
