And all of sudden... it's blood! After rounds and rounds of a rather calm and basically solidly played chess, today we finally got a shaking round, with three games out of five resulting decisive. The all-USA match ended in a draw, with Nakamura and Caruana showing respect to each other. Gir vs. Anand seemed to turn into something interesting for the younger player, but he missed the opportunity for the knock-out, and the Indian legend defended well - as usual - to bring home the draw. Svidler continues to navigate in dark waters and lost his game against Ding, who scores his first win. MVL woke up from a torpor that seemed to have overcome him after his loss in round 2. Now the French world number 2 is at least back to 50%. Wesley so today played the leader Veselin Topalov, and was able to win the game, taking the sole lead. After six rounds, Wesley leads with 4/6, followed by Anand and Topalov half a point behind. At one full point from the top, there is a howling pack of super-GMs: MVL, Aronian, Nakamura, Caruana and Ding. With three rounds to go, nothing is decided yet. We all hope to see some hard fought battles in these last rounds! Round 7 tomorrow at 2pm EDT -- 20:00 CEDT.
