Manipur ground report: Inside a Kuki relief camp | The Federal Exclusive

#manipur #kuki #meitei #relief It has been nearly two months since the ethnic clashes broke out in Manipur, leaving several dead and uprooting many from their homes. The Federal visited a Kuki relief camp in Kangpokpi to assess the situation of people living there. The camp has been set up and is being funded by social activists from the Kuki community. Around 170 individuals who lost their houses or were affected by the ethnic violence have been rehabilitated here. The camp houses several children, who have not been to school for the past two months. A few social workers visit the refugee camp to teach these children. Several refugees who have taken shelter in the camp have lost their job in the ethnic violence and now survive on food and necessities provided by social workers. The camp earlier housed nearly 1,000 people. The city administration later moved a few relief to other camps. --- ▶For more explainers, and interesting videos - https://thefederal.com/videos/  ▶For the latest news and analysis - https://thefederal.com/  Follow The Federal News here - ▶Facebook:   /      ▶Twitter:   / thefederal_in   ▶Instagram:   / thefederal_india   ▶Mastodon: https://mastodon.social/@Thefederal ▶WhatsApp: https://wa.me/917397357788 Download The Federal App here - ▶Android - http://bit.ly/TheFederalAndroid ▶iPhone - http://bit.ly/TheFederalios
