A big political controversy has erupted over reports that the government is planning to rename India to Bharat. The row started after Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma indicated that the name of the Indian republic is set to be changed. His tweet led to reports that the government is set to bring a resolution to bring in effect a potential change of name during the scheduled special session of Indian parliament later this month.
