Advent Calendar of Circuits 2014: Day 1: High Voltage Probe

A simple high voltage probe for 4-5 kV with a 1000:1 division ratio. Similar project from 12 years ago lives here: http://www.vk2zay.net/article/10 it does not compensate for the input resistance of the meter, but it has a neon bulb to (perhaps) protect the meter input against minor flash-overs.
