1997 - Week 3 - NY Jets @ New England

This was Tuna Bowl 1 and at least for this Patriots fan, it was a bit of a reality check of what we had in Bill Parcells. Bill Parcells left the Patriots directly after the Super Bowl loss to Green Bay and decided to take over a Jets team that won only 3 games in 1995 and just 1 game in 1996 and immediately elevated them to competitive and would have them in the AFC Championship in 1998. The Patriots caught a number of breaks in this one as the Jets would fumble inside the Patriots 5 before the half and after the Patriots fumbled the kickoff after the Jets tied the game in the closing seconds - John Hall's game winner would be blocked. The Patriots defense would have 7 sacks and Curtis Martin would dominate with 199 yards rushing for New England.
