De’Aaron Fox had 24 points, nine assists, five rebounds, and four steals for the Kings (2-0), who protected homecourt in the first two games of a best-of-seven series that moves to the city of San Francisco for Game 4 and 5.🎙 Domantas Sabonis had 24 points, nine rebounds, and four assists for the Kings despite getting stomped on in the ribcage by Draymond Green while Sabonis was on floor in the fourth quarter. 🎙 The Warriors had just pulled down a defensive rebound and headed to their basket. Green was kicked out of the game by the referees.🎙 “Everybody thought he’d be ejected,” Fox said of Green’s misguided antics. “So when that happens, usually that team kind of comes together and goes on a run. But we were able to negate that, and I think we finished the game extremely well in those last few minutes.” The physical altercation took place when Sabonis grabbed Green’s foot. X-rays on Sabonis’s lungs and ribs returned negative. Green was ejected from the game and Sabonis was assessed with a technical foul.🎙 Malik Monk added 18 points, six rebounds, and three assists while Kevin Huerter contributed 15 points, five rebounds, and one steal. Monk’s 18 points marks the fifth time in the playoffs where a player has recorded 15-plus points off the bench in consecutive games.🎙 Davion Mitchell had 14 points, three rebounds, and two assists. The Kings forced 20 Warriors’ turnover and held them to 18 assists after the Ws had 31 dimes in their 126-123 loss on April 15.🎙 The Ws just can’t seem to penetrate the loudness of the Sacramento Kings’ fans inside of Golden 1 Center. Steph Curry led the Warriors (0-2) with 28 points, three rebounds, and six assists. Andrew Wiggins started and knocked down 22 points. Klay Thompson had 21 points, five rebounds, and three assists.🎙 “They did a great job defensively pressuring us and we didn’t handle it well enough to win a playoff game on the road,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “With that said, it’s a tied game with four minutes left or whatever it was so we know we have to play better.” The Kings led by as many as 10 points in the second quarter until the Warriors rallied back to tie the game 52-52, capped off by Curry’s two free throws. The Kings finished on a 6-0 run to close out the frame, holding on to a 58-52 halftime lead. 🎙 In the third quarter, the Warriors were plagued with personal fouls, including Kevon Looney committing his fifth infraction on Sabonis at the 6:51 mark. The Kings built up a 13-point margin on a basket by Monk and ended the quarter leading 83-75.🎙 With 7:03 left to play, Green viciously stomped Sabonis in the chest after he grabbed him around the foot when the Kings led 91-88. Green was sent to the locker room. Sabonis made both flagrant free throws to lead by five points.🎙 Curry scored on a 12-foot bank shott and Gary Payton II made a corner 3-point shot to tie the game at 93. The game was tied again at 95 before the Kings broke the knot and went on a 17-8 run, finished with a Mitchell 3-pointer at the 1:17 mark to make the score 112-103. 🎙 “My teammates had confidence in me throughout the whole game. Malik kept telling me ‘You’re going to hit the next one, you’re gonna hit the next one’ and as soon as I got the next one, I just trusted my work and just shot it, and it went in.” The Warriors knew then that Mitchell’s trey was the dagger. The Kings never looked back. Golden State has not fallen behind 0-2 in a series since 2007, when they trailed the Utah Jazz 2-0 in the Western Conference Semifinals. 🎙 “The biggest lesson is how do we control the momentum early… knowing that they’re young, athletic… they’re trying to play with force. We can match that,” Curry said of playing the Kings. “We just got to play with a little bit more IQ in terms of what we’re trying to do on both ends of the floor.” Both teams head to San Francisco for Game 3 and 4 ,on Thursday, April 20 and Sunday, April 23 at Chase Center.🎙 ✍️🎙🎙🎙✍️ – 30 – #SacramentoKings #TonyRayHarvey #NBA #Sacramento #AntonioRayHarvey #DeAaronFox #Kevin Huerter #SacramentoProud #DomantasSabonis #MalikMonk #DavionMitchell #KevinHuerter #KeeganMurray #MikeBrown #NBA #NBAPlayoffs #NBAWesternConference #NBAEasternConference #GoldenStateWarriors #StephCurry #KlayThompson #DraymondGreen #JordanPoole #SteveKerr #AndrewWiggins Footage and Text by T.
