Resident Evil Code: Veronica is the first game that introduced me to the series since I didn't have a PSX growing up. The game was released on the Dreamcast as part of the main series. It's has some mixed criticism mostly due to the side characters and large amounts of backtracking. Graphically the game looks great and the scale of the game is huge requiring two discs. Claire returns where she left off searching for her brother which ends up getting her captured and sent to a secret Island owned by Umbrella. You also play as Chris which is another exciting return. The game feels still old school with tank controls and inventory system but there are new changes such as full 3d environments and a camera that tracks. The story is great giving lore on one the founding families of Umbrella. The variety of weapons is also great. You get the option of more powerful fully automatic weapons right away. Puzzles still remain but the large amount of backtracking plus the huge areas might be too much for some and the side characters might be a big turn off since they are pretty over the top. Overall I really enjoyed RE Code Veronica. It's too bad the Dreamcast didn't sell well but the game did. This time we check out the updated PS2 version. Capcom needed to port this over to make more sales but honestly the added content is really lackluster. You only get 3 extra cutscenes and they chance Steve's hair lol. This is part 1 of our playthrough. Resident Evil - Code: Veronica | 2001 | PS2 Twitch: / vesperarcade Twitter: / vesperarcade Discord: / discord
