Darkest Dungeon Let's Roll Play Part 49 - Destroy the Brigand 12 Pounder Boss

5:28 "The wild whispers of heresy roused the rabble to violent action. Such was the general air of rebellion that even my generous offer of gold to the local constabulary was rebuffed. To reassert my rule I sought out unscrupulous men skilled in the application of force. Tight-lipped and terrifying, these mercenaries brought with them a war machine of terrible implication." 9:52 An early engagement enroute to the mercenary encampment was met with resistance. The giants that inhabit these woods don't take kindly to strangers, and the old crone easily directs his anger. Tucked in her pocket was a familiar handkerchief from my youth. 15:59 The warm glow of the torchlight dwingled faster than expected and didn't help the nervous thoughts of Vipont. Without proper lighting to lead the way, the party found themselves wandering into the thick underbrush which clung and bit at them with its thorns. 19:26 While the others worried about the darkness around them, Poussin took an optimistic approach. "Fog before sunrise," he kept repeating, as though the mantra itself would keep him safe. 31:20 Vipont couldn't quite wrap his mind around it. How could such an alluring woman have fallen in with such Eldritch horrors? What strange powers did she sell her innocence for? As his mind tried to unravel the puzzle, it twisted itself up into a knot and thoughts that went in, no longer came out right on the other side. 33:45 The cannon was intimidating, to be sure, but this fight was no different than any other. The heroes all knew their roles, and had played their parts before. 39:02 Overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer and complacency is no better. Finally the horror of the cannon was brought to bear. Leaving our fierce heroes quivvering in shock and fear. Darkest Dungeon is a challenging gothic roguelike RPG about the psychological stresses of adventuring in which you will lead a band of heroes on a perilous side-scrolling descent, dealing with a prodigious number of threats to their bodily health, and worse, a relentless assault on their mental fortitude! Five hundred feet below the earth you will not only fight unimaginable foes, but famine, disease, and the stress of the ever-encroaching dark. Darkest Dungeon focuses on the humanity and psychological vulnerability of the heroes and asks: What emotional toll does a life of adventure take? Darkest Dungeon's development began in May 2013 and the game was formally announced with the "Terror and Madness" trailer in October 2013. A successful Kickstarter campaign was run in February 2014, earning over $313,337 from approximately 10,000 backers. Darkest Dungeon was first exhibited to the public at PAX East and then PAX Prime 2014. Early Access was released on Steam on Feb 3rd, where it remained #1 worldwide top seller for 7 days. Full PC/Mac release is targeted for October 2015, with PS4 and Vita confirmed to follow. Original score by Stuart Chatwood, composer for eight "Prince of Persia" games and founding member of multi-platinum Canadian rock band "The Tea Party."
