Other players will have to wait a couple of weeks. Deck Nine Games’ Life is Strange: Double Exposure is live early for Ultimate Edition owners. More specifically, its first two chapters are. Advanced access became available for those who purchase the $80 edition, allowing them to delve into part of the story. The opening two chapters of the new Life is Strange pick up with original protagonist Max Caulfield, as photographer-in-residence at Caledon University. Before long, Max finds herself embroiled in a murder mystery that spans two timelines, one where the victim, and Max's friend Safi is alive, and another where she's met an untimely end. Thus far, impressions are positive, though some players have complained about visual bugs (like Vinh suddenly T-posing, as seen in this Reddit post), performance issues on PC, and at least one crash. As previously confirmed, the sequel respects the very first game’s endings, but you have to choose which one to follow at the start (which manifests in interesting ways). Thus far, fans are intrigued by the overall direction of the current story. “Life is Strange: Double Exposure was crafted to be a satisfying mystery with no shortage of twists to keep you guessing where the story might go next,” said Game Director Jonathan Stauder. “With the early release of Chapter 1 + 2, we wanted to give fans the time and opportunity to speculate, theorize and analyze like they did when Life is Strange was an episodic series." Life is Strange: Double Exposure launches on October 29th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, with the Nintendo Switch version coming later.
