What Assetto Corsa EVO 8K VR could BE | DLSS 4.5 | RTX 5090 ULTRA SETTINGS | Nordschleife BMW M4 GT3

If any of you were wondering what next-generation VR RACING could look like, you’ve come to the right place. This video marks a new chapter in my ongoing effort to create a hyper-realistic driving experience on KUNOS platforms. Previously focusing on heavily modded AC1, today I’ll be testing the limits of Assetto Corsa EVO, equipped with DLSS 4.5 and running in 8K VR — pushing the simulator far beyond its current out-of-the-box capabilities to explore what the future of immersive SimRacing might truly become one day. One of my biggest challenges in Assetto Corsa EVO right now is VR performance. With the simulators currently poor VR optimization in combo with its reliance on the outdated NVIDIA DLSS 3, both frame rate and image clarity fall far short of what modern VR hardware demands. The result: stuttering and sudden FPS drops, grainy visuals, poor texture sharpness, and an experience that simply isn’t acceptable YET in my opinion. To explore what could be possible hopefully soon, I’ve upgraded the sim to NVIDIA’s newly released DLSS 4.5 and started experimenting to unlock the maximum VR potential of version 0.4.1. All graphics settings are set to ULTRA. DLSS 4.5 runs in Quality preset, combined with an effective SteamVR resolution of 5600 × 4136 pixels per eye, displayed through the MeganeX 8K Superlight VR headset. The system is powered by a RTX 5090 and AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D. IMPORTANT NOTE: SteamVR Throttling Behavior is set to 45 FPS (1/2 of MeganeX native 90Hz). Today’s run is driven on a brand new custom-built 7-actuator HN Motion 6DOF rig. Complemented by an extensive body-transducer system for vehicle and track haptics, Simucube's Active Pedal Pro and Simagic's Alpha Evo Pro wheelbase. The result is a brutally powerful, uncompromising full motion driving experience — designed specifically for the Nordschleife, with its extreme elevation changes, compressions, and relentless corner sequences. The custom HN Motion system is the logical response to one goal: making this legendary track physically tangible in a way that was previously hard to imagine. A big THANK YOU and genuine praise goes to HN Motion, KUNOS Simulazioni, NVIDIA, Simucube and Simagic. Your continuous development of hardware and software make experiences like this even possible. I can’t wait to see, what the future holds for us passionate VR Drivers. At the same time, this is a respectful but clear request to KUNOS Simulazioni: please continue pushing the graphics engine development further forward, please work towards native DLSS 4.5+ support, please fully exploit all other available technologies and optimizations to improve image clarity, sharpness and overall performance — especially for VR. 🎧 Best with headphones | Experimental VR showcase Sim Rig & PC Specs (Assetto Corsa EVO VR Setup) 🖥️ GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5090 🧠 CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D 🥽 VR Headset: MeganeX 8K Superlight 🕹️ Motion Rig: Custom HN Motion 6DOF PROTOTYPE ⚙️ Actuators: 7 × V2 @250 mm travel 🎛️ Immersion: 1 bass shaker, 2 seat transducers 3DOF MOTION DIY KIT V2 150mm: availabe today: https://hnmotion.com.au/products/hn-3... 6DOF MOTION DIY KIT V2 250mm: available to be made to order, contact: [email protected] 🖼️ VR Resolution: 5600 × 4136 per eye (SteamVR) 🧩 Upscaling: NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 (Performance Preset) 🎮 Wheelbase: Simagic Alpha Evo Pro 🦶 Pedals: Simucube Active Pedal Pro
