While Star Wars first-person shooters are now fairly common, it all started in 1995 with Star Wars: Dark Forces. Dark Forces is the story of Kyle Katarn, a former Imperial agent turned mercenary for hire who is always willing to help the Rebel Alliance... for a price. What starts as a couple of simple missions turns into a galaxy-wide tale in intrigue as the Empire builds a new weapon to crush the Rebellion. Only Kyle can stop it and help bring freedom to the galaxy... In the first mission of Dark Forces, Kyle executes Phase 2 of Operation Skyhook. He has to infiltrate a secret Imperial base to steal the Death Star plans. Before Jyn Erso and the Disney destruction of Star Wars canon, it was Kyle Katarn who stole the Death Star plans and returned them to the Rebel Alliance which launched the mission that destroyed the Empire's space station.
