This video shows how I clean and make the pistons ready for installation back into the engine block. Ringlands get filled with carbon and lots of other engine gunk. Sometimes when exposed to neglect and abuse the ringlands may even slightly compress. Within reason they can be reconditioned. They will not perform as well as a fresh set of pistons... But they will still function. The tool I am using is the Lisle Ring Groove Cleaner 24000. I am so glad that there was a clever guy that thought up of this tool. Makes ringland cleaning so easy!
