CBK Governor throws its weight behind the planned buyout of NBK

The Central Bank of Kenya Governor Dr Patrick Njoroge has thrown its weight behind the planned buyout of troubled National Bank of Kenya by Kenya Commercial Bank. Njoroge has told National Assembly Finance and National Planning Committee that the acquisition is the only option on the table to salvage the lender’s dwindling assets and protect customers.
