In the very likely event that you do not have that charm, I suggest dropping Awaken. With fortify fully activated, power charm and talon, and when Brachydios is raging, the switch axe has an attack of 1600, 50% affinity, and power phial boost. As you can see, I'm not very good at evading when I use switch axe and get hit by a lot of stupid things, which is why this quest is hit and miss when I use switch axe. Last run I tried to do was going amazing, evading like a pro and kicking ass. Then I had to stand there because I didn't pay close enough attention to the axe phial, so I got hit with a horn stab while I was forced to stand still. I would have combined for more bombs, but I came to the conclusion that I didn't give a shit this run, which worked out well actually. So, yeah.
