RIVERSIDE - Early Saturday morning, February 29, 2020, the Riverside Police Department along with the City of Riverside Fire Department and AMR responded to reports of a traffic collision on 14th Street near Victoria Avenue. The crash was reported around 1:07am in the 2500 block of 14th Street. According to Captain Tony Giovannetti, with the City of Riverside Fire Department, crews responded to reports of a solo vehicle traffic collision shortly after 1:00am. When firefighters arrived they located a vehicle into a rear bedroom of a single story home with a victim trapped. The victim was in the bedroom at the time of the crash and was pinned between the vehicle and a bedroom wall. Firefighters were able to quickly free the trapped victim who was transported to an area hospital in stable condition. Two occupants into the vehicle suffered minor injuries are were also transported to an area hospital. Initial reports indicated the driver of the sedan was traveling westbound of 14th Street when he lost control, struck and sheared a utility pole, crashed through the fence of one home and crashed through the fence of another home before slamming into the rear bedroom of an occupied residence.
