#Wizkid is currently under fire because he said he doesn’t listen to rap music, and he declared that genre of music, "de@d and boring”. In a recent interview, he said: “Afrobeats is the new pop. I sold two million copies in America off one song! Even some American artists don’t have a diamond record. If I’m being honest, I don’t listen to any other type of music anymore. I don’t listen to rap, it's boring, it's d3ad, it’s tired." In Nigeria, the #mothertongue may soon become a compulsory language of instruction in primary schools. The Federal Executive Council has approved a new National Language Policy which makes the mother tongue a compulsory medium of instruction from Primary one to six, while it will be combined with the English language from Junior Secondary School. #FreeKwaku is trending as Twitter users demand the release of a man identified as Kwaku Rafik, from the National Security custody. Reports have it that Kwaku was picked up at his Accra residence, in the early hours of Thursday following his anti-government posts alleged to be harsh on the Ghanaian government.
