Creating Masked Tile Patterns in Substance Designer

Creating Masked Tile Patterns in Substance Designer

A novice-intermediate level tutorial, just going over a basic technique for masking off patterns for Mosaic tiles (which can be stacked multiple times to create more complex effects than this), as well as some quick chips/cracks/damage in the tiles. (Mostly) entirely procedural in Substance Designer- could be 100% procedural, but I found it easier to use a bitmap as the basis for complex pattern masks. You could just as easily use a pattern created within Substance, but for complex shapes, it's probably easier and more computationally efficient to just make your pattern in Photoshop or Illustrator and drag it in for your material.
