🥛 Verghese Kurien – The Milk Man of India Dr. Verghese Kurien was born on 26 November 1921 in Kerala. He was an engineer who changed the life of millions of Indian farmers. He is known as the Father of the White Revolution in India because he made our country the largest milk producer in the world. He started Amul Dairy in Anand, Gujarat, which became a famous milk brand. He also began the Operation Flood program to supply milk all over India. His work helped poor farmers earn more money and made India self-sufficient in milk production. For his great work, he received many awards like Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Vibhushan. Dr. Kurien passed away on 9 September 2012, but his contribution still helps India every day.
