The National Day of Prayer calls on all people of different faiths to pray for the nation. Held annually on the first Thursday of May, our Celebration has become a moving annual tradition at Heartland Regional Medical Center. This year’s event at Heartland Regional Medical Center looked a little different. We were honored to have Marion Mayor Mike Absher lead us in prayer this morning. Inspired by President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s D-Day prayer, Mayor Absher delivered an inspirational message to all employees who are serving on the frontline during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Give us faith in thee; faith in each other; faith in our united crusade. Let not the keenness of our spirit ever be dulled. Let not the impacts of temporary events of temporal matters of but fleeting moment – let not these deter us in our purpose.”
