September 29, 2024 AS WE GATHER As sinners, we do not weather our miseries well. We crave physical comfort and readily complain to our spiritual leadership. Our belligerent refrains are sometimes futile, for they cannot alter the will of God. In the midst of our displeasure, God sends prophets and preachers to rebuke, correct, and instruct. In prayer and song, Jesus’ words should be our constant refrain so that we do not wander from truth or cause others to fall into sin.
