The Village of Granisle, B.C. saw a 90% drop in population after the two nearby mines closed down, and the majority of their remaining population were seniors. To address this sudden and drastic change in demographics, the village committed to a number of age-friendly initiatives that allowed residents of all ages to feel connected to their community. This video celebrates the accomplishments of Granisle, a small northern BC community that serves as a vivid demonstration of how age-friendly policies improve health and wellness for community members of all ages.
