Forces go all out to avenge martyrdom in Anantnag encounter, destroy terror hideouts

During the counter-terrorism operation in Kokernag, Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir, three officers made the ultimate sacrifice in a gunfight with terrorists on Wednesday. Among them were commanding officer Colonel Manpreet Singh, Major Ashish Dhonchak of Rashtriya Rifles along with Deputy Superintendent Humayun Bhat of the Jammu and Kashmir Police. All three succumbed to their injuries. The banned resistance front, linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility.
