#Independenceday #TriColour #Idli #Tiranga INDEPENDENCE DAY SPECIAL TRICOLOUR TIRANGA IDLI These pillowy soft Idli is a steamed cake which is made by grinding idli rice, urad dal (skinned black lentils), fenugreek seeds flattered rice (poha / Aval) along with water. Poha will help to makes soft idlis. Each and every ingredient is ground separately. All the ingredients are soaked for a minimum of 4 - 6 hours and then ground. Wash all the ingredients in the beginning and then soak it in water. Wash the rice 3-4 times so the idli will be really white later. Don’t make watery or runny batter because then if so the idlies will not rise and it will become hard and flat. So while grinding do not add too much water, the batter will thin out a little after fermentation. Usually the batter needs to ferment for 8-12 hours. Once the time is up, the batter should have increased in volume, add salt and mix it well. Your batter is ready. To make tiranga colour I used only natural ingredients, no artificial colour is used. For the orange colour I used carrot, red paprika powder and dry red chilli. And for green colour I used spinach, coriander, green chili, curry leaves, jeera powder. This authentic recipe will melt-in-your-mouth, it’s so soft just like the ones made in south Indian homes. It’s a pure Vegan, gluten free and a healthy food.
