Queen, Live At The National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, UK. "This is the first of two nights at the NEC Arena, the first ever rock concerts at the venue. Brian addresses the issue before Love Of My Life: "I think we ought to be back here next year. You're brilliant here. What do you think of this place? Do you think this is alright, this NEC?" They certainly do. "It just seems like you're a little bit far away, you know. I think we should try out Bingley [Hall in Stafford] again next time." They roar in approval of the idea. "Let's go civilize this place a little." Throughout the show, a couple fellows in the audience keep shouting out for White Man (even sometimes during songs!). But to their eventual dismay, Queen won't play the song tonight as it had been dropped from the set a couple years back. Before Mustapha, Freddie says they band are gonna do something in Arabic, to which the audience members shout "No!" in contradiction of the majority of approval. Later in the show, before Love Of My Life, one of them takes note that the band have "stuck to the hits."
