Surprise Yourself (Suicide Awareness) - Patrick Vincent Hester

In honor of Suicide Awareness Day and Month, I have created a short music video film to Jack Garratt's song, "Surprise Yourself." Remixed by Griffin and Manila Killa. This was a passion project of mine that I am so greatful it got to see the light of day. I wrote, directed, produced, storyboarded, acted, choreographed, and edited this piece. Thank you so much to my cinematographer, Connor Colebrook. You are amazing. This is about struggling with anxiety, depression, suicide and overall mental health. Finding the courage to speak your vulnerability and protecting that child you once were. When you look at yourself as someone else, or your child self as someone else, you may be more likely to give them the best you can. You are your own hero. It's up to you to love yourself before you can love others. Don't let others tell you your story doesn't matter. Feel the things you need to in order to grow.
