Who Qualifies For The $600 California Stimulus Check, What's The CalEITC 2020 Tax Credit? This $600 stimulus payment proposed by Governor Gavin Newsom isn't just for those of us collecting unemployment benefits, it's for those of us who made under $30,000 in the 2020 tax year. This California stimulus check for $600 won't be paid out by the CA EDD so it won't arrive on our CA EDD Bank of America debit cards, instead it would arrive separately after we file our 2020 taxes. To qualify you need to make under $30,000 and qualify for the CalEITC 2020 tax credit. The qualifications for this allow for a higher income than the federal EITC tax credit so don't count yourself out just because you didn't qualify for that. Unemployment benefits also do not count toward the CalEITC (California Earned Income Tax Credit) so, it's possible you might still be eligible for this check even if your combined earnings were more than $30,000. If your only income in 2020 was from unemployment, you might not qualify for this tax credit. They say we could get this $600 stimulus check shortly after we file our 2020 taxes.
