WZ-120G FT: New Tier IX TD || World of Tanks

This video does not feature any gameplay footage of the new tank! Sorry about that, WG didn’t let CCs get our hands on this early for testing. I found out about this just as soon as everyone else, so it’s all news to me. Anyway, I figured I’d try to help people decide if this newly released tier 9 Chinese reward tank destroyer, the WZ-120G FT is something they will want to play, and if I think it’ll be good. Overall it seems like it’ll have about as much armor as the Object 704 (although the 704’s scary gun makes people rush shots and probably makes the armor artificially more effective), and it should move about as fast as a 704 also. The alpha is 560 and the standard and premium penetration are 271mm and 340mm respectively, which is definitely not hitting as hard or penning as often as many other tier 9 TDs. The gun stats are also much worse than other comparable tank destroyers, so I think it’ll be tough taking longer shots, but the armor won’t let you do much else it seems. It’s worth noting that the tank traverse is quite quick, and it turns about as quick as a medium tank, and the track repair speed is also extremely fast. These are features that are nice to have and easy to overlook, but it’s not easy to say whether the whole package together will be really great. My instincts tell me that this will be a playable, perfectly fine tank that some people will love, but it’s not going to be crazy OP and totally broken. Is it worth the Free XP? Only you can decide that. If you decide to pass, remember that WarGaming tends to sell new tanks in the shop 6ish months after they’re newly released, so you’ll surely get another shot at getting this later if you skip it now.
