With the visit from a good friend from the Lower Mainland, we decided to head trackside and I took him to my favoured spot at Taft Road grade crossing, Mile 24.4 of Canadian Pacific's Shuswap Subdivision. First along was an eastbound work train with rip-rap loads hurrying east. CP5766 is leading CP6069. If you go to Google, select Maps and paste in 50°59'53.1"N 118°39'13.0"W you'll see the location of the camera for this video. Technical: Recorded with a Canon XA55 4KHD Pro video camera at 1920x1080 resolution. For outdoor shooting, it is equipped with an Azden SMX-10 High-Performance Stereo Condenser Microphone mounted inside a Rode Blimp Windshield on a Rycote Shock Mount Suspension System. A Neewer NW74K 7-Inch 1920x1080 Field Monitor is also used . All equipment is then mounted on a custom bar attached to a Canadian Studio Pro Heavy Duty 72" Tripod with an EI-717 Fluid Pan Head. Video is edited, produced and rendered using Cyberlink PowerDirector 20 Ultimate.
