The singing half of the country duo Brothers Osborne celebrated his win at the 2021 CMA Awards on Wednesday by kissing his boyfriend — nine months after coming out as gay. “It’s been a crazy roller-coaster of a year for us in so many ways, especially for me emotionally,” the 36-year-old singer said as he accepted his prize. “And to have you all support me, it really does feel like love wins tonight. Thank you,” added an emotional T.J.“Give this boy a round of applause,” his brother John addeed, acknowledging the importance of the moment.“I want to get to the height of my career being completely who I am,” he said in an interview with Time. “I mean, I am who I am, but I’ve kept a part of me muted, and it’s been stifling.”
