So make it a point to become serious about your spiritual life. Remain in the association of devotees and remain favourable. Maintain a humble attitude, don't criticize the devotees. Make it a point not to criticize the devotees even if you find some faults in them, don't criticize. If at all it becomes unbearable, then go to the higher authorities and ask them what you should do? But don't criticize. As you know vaisnava aparadha is the most dangerous thing for our spiritual destruction. And create a very nice atmosphere, become friends; that's what Rupa Goswami is saying. The dealings between the devotees should be friendship, maitri. Maitri means friendship. Devotees should be friendly to each other. Sometimes it may be difficult to work with somebody; ok, if you have difficulties then make friends with others, there are so many other devotees. And also make it a point that the difficulty that you're facing in cooperating with other devotees is not because of your own fault, because of your own false ego, because of your own fault finding nature. Try to appreciate. Often it happens we become upset with others because he did something that he did not approve of my doing. But we have to see whether he was right or I'm right. If he is right admit it – “Oh Prabhu! I'm sorry, please forgive me.” Spiritual life is actually a very wonderful process. If you follow the process properly your heart will be filled with joy. And if you don't follow the process properly, then what will happen? If you don't follow the process properly, then Krishna will say, “Ok, go somewhere else, this is not the place for you. You find the right place in the material world, go”. And that's what Krishna does also. It has been said that when one takes shelter of Krishna, Krishna gives him all protection. Then why doesn't Krishna give protection to the devotees? Many a times we see advanced devotees, senior devotees are falling down. Why Krishna is not giving them protection although they render so much service? And the reason is Krishna cannot tolerate Vaisnava aparadha. Vaisnava aparadha is the only thing that makes a devotee leave the association of devotees. Otherwise, Krishna always gives him protection. And when you leave the association of devotees, that's the end of your spiritual life. So recognize that this is a Vaikuntha atmosphere that Prabhupada is offering to us. Prabhupada has given us Vaikuntha. Now it's up to us whether we'll keep it a Vaikuntha or we'll make it a narak-kunda. That is up to us. Prabhupada can give us Vaikuntha but we can turn this Vaikuntha into narak, that is our influence. So we shouldn't do that. We got an entry to Vaikuntha; let's stay in Vaikuntha. Let's give ourselves completely to remain in this atmosphere in the most wonderful way by being engaged in devotional service properly.
