Signed from Sunderland in December 1994 for £1.1M, Don Goodman found it difficult to score in the second half of the 1994/95 season, netting only 3 times in over 30 appearances as Wolves goals were mostly being scored by Steve Bull and David Kelly. It wasn't until the following season in 1995/96 that Goodman began to find the net with regularity, scoring 20 goals for the season and being Wolves leading goalscorer for the season. Injuries curtailed his appearances in 1996/97 and in his final season at Wolves in 1997/98 he scored 10 goals in total to be Wolves 3rd highest goalscorer for the season. Don Goodman was one of the finest headers of the ball to have played for Wolves, despite being less 6 foot in height; but he possessed a prodigious leap that saw many a fine goal scored with his head. His most famous goal was the deft chip for the late winner in the FA Cup Quarter-Final away at Leeds United (then in the Premier League). His total record at Wolves was 39 goals in 154 appearances.
