Kulgam, Mar 03 LG strongly condemn the brutal killing of Panch, Mohammad Yaqoob Dar by terrorists. This is an act of cowardice and perpetrators of this heinous terror attack will be brought to justice very soon. My deepest condolences to bereaved family in this hour of grief. Police sources said that Unknown gunmen on yesterday evening shot dead an independent Panch outside his residence at Kulpora Srandroo area of Kulgam district. He had contest election as on independent candidate. He said that in the incident, the panch identified as Mohammad Yaqoob Dar of Kulpora Srandroo Kulgam received injuries, who was rushed to hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries. Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Kulgam, Dr. Muzaffar Zargar told that panch was brought dead to the hospital. He said that Dar had bullet injuries in chest & neck. Meanwhile, senior Police officer said that Kulgam Police received information about a militant act at Kolpora area of Kulgam. He said that preliminary investigation has revealed that militants had fired upon a Panch (Independent) identified as Mohammad Yaqoob Dar at Kolpora Srundoo area of Kulgam. “he said, adding that a case has been registered in this regard under relevant sections of law. “Investigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the circumstances which lead to this incident.
