[100] Super Mario World: Christmas Edition / SNES Hack / Retro Achievements - First Mastery Miracle

EPISODE 100 SUPER MARIO WORLD: CHRISTMAS EDITION SUPER NINTENDO (HACK) Originally streamed on Kick on December 17, 2023 and December 18, 2023. It’s the month of December which means we’re celebrating the Holidays with some Christmas salt! This episode we’ll explore the very first game that I mastered for Retro Achievements, Super Mario World: Christmas Edition, an interesting Holiday themed SMW Hack with some fun ideas that lead to A LOT of salt when I originally streamed it. I hadn’t played any SMW Hacks in a while so this was a bit jarring for me at the time, but it did kick off the trend of me exploring more SMW Hacks during my Retro Achievements journey. We’ll be exploring a snowy Mushroom Kingdom as we collect the 5 Dragon Coins in each level, find the hidden Switch Palaces and secret exits, and defeat some of the most annoying bosses that I’ve encountered up to this point. Despite my displeasure of the bosses and a couple of the levels, the game is very creative and I love the wintery, Christmas theme of the adventure. There’s also an updated version of this game as well, Super Mario Bros: Merry Mountain Adventure. It basically overhauled the game and added a ton of cool ideas and some welcome improvements as well, so keep that in mind for a future episode this month. Let’s dive in and check out how this Christmas miracle occurred as I earned my very first Retro Achievements mastery, and see how much salt hit the fan during those streams! STORY It’s finally Christmas in the Mushroom Kingdom, but an evil ice princess wants to freeze the Mushroom Kingdom and steal all of the presents! Mario and Luigi must traverse the frozen land and stop the ice princess from ruining Christmas.
