More termite gut fauna 400x

Microbial eukaryote symbionts found in the termite gut, some Trichonympha sp. (large, round & flapping) as well as long slender and small round forms are visible under phase contrast illumination. When the light is dimmed, fluorescence illumination shows archaeal symbionts of these organisms as fluorescing patches inside the moving bodies.
