KCVL-SBC Exp has brand new 2012 rakes, equipped with green toilet facility. This train was inaugurated by Mr Jaffer Sharief the then Railway Minister. His daughter used to travel in this train from Chennai to Katpadi ,Vellore Institiute of Technology (VIT). Departed SBC 25min late and guess what... Entered MAS 15min before time. Awesome Crew they were. It leaves Bangalore City at 06:30 hrs and reaches Chennai Central at 12:15 hrs. In the return direction, it leaves Chennai Central at 15:35 hrs and reaches Bangalore City at 21:35 hrs. The train no is 12607 in the Chennai to Bangalore direction and 12608 in the Bangalore to Chennai direction. The train has around 21 coaches. It is categorized as a "Superfast Express".. This train shares its rake with the 12609/12610 Bangalore-Chennai express which takes about 6½ hours for the same distance. It runs on a complete electrified railway route and uses an electric engine. Lalbagh Express was introduced by the Southern Railway.
