(ROLL FILM) A large crowd of Salemites turned out tonight to get a preview of Christmas 1963. The occasion was the (SHOW FILM) Annual Christmas Parade. The parade, made up of amany beautiful colorful floats, and marching bands wound its way up Main Street, to Colorado, where the parade then turned south. The three winners in the parade, just happened to be the same ones that topped the competition in the Roanoke Christmas Parade last Saturday. Our Lady of Nazareth won the best religious float; The float best symbolizing Christmas went to the Junior Womens Club of Roanoke. And the Senior Firettes of Bedford were named the best marching unit. Salemites also got a good look at the Towns new lights strung above main Street.
