Romeo and Juliet Suite by Sergei Prokofiev Grave of Juliet Jung-Ho Pak, conductor Recorded live in concert by Mciver Recording March 2010, Boston, Massachusetts In Massachusetts, All-State orchestra personnel is selected from approximately 2000 high school students, grades 9-12, from about 350 school districts who audition for the 120 spots in the Massachusetts All State Orchestra. Students first audition in their districts in the fall and then may qualify to obtain a recommendation for the All State auditions which are held at the end of January. If accepted, students receive music by mail and begin working toward a March All State performance which is held at Symphony Hall in Boston, home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra Jung‐Ho Pak is currently Artistic Director and Conductor of the San Diego Chamber Orchestra and the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra. Prior to that, Pak served eight seasons as Music Director of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, one of the largest orchestras in the New England region. In 2003, he was appointed Music Director of the World Youth Symphony Orchestra and Director of Orchestras at the Interlochen Center for the Arts. Jung-Ho Pak is described by the New York Times as a conductor who "radiates enthusiasm", the Los Angeles Times as "a real grabber", and twice by the San Diego Union-Tribune as one of the most "impactful people to watch". Maestro Pak has developed a reputation as a visionary and influential leader. His "new vision" for classical music in San Diego is to create a joyous, emotional and dramatic musical experience for today's audiences, an experience that attracts a whole new generation to classical music.
