The largest Black fashion event in Brazil held its 11th edition with an exciting return to Praça Terreiro de Jesus, in Pelourinho. The fashion show took place on November 1st, 2025, marking the official opening of Salvador Capital Afro and the celebrations of Black Consciousness Month, under the central theme "BEAUTY". This powerful theme celebrated the aesthetics, body diversity, and self-expression of Bahia's Black culture. The fashion presentation, which featured 78 models and 45 local stylists and accessory designers, was divided into three conceptual blocks: ROOT, a dive into ancestry; EXPRESSION, the act of manifesting identity and creativity; and MIRROR, the celebration of individual beauty and representation. The soundtrack and musical performances were moments of celebration of Afro-Brazilian culture. The sound production that accompanied the show was by DJ Telefunksoul. The audience was thrilled by the grand opening of Ilê Aiyê, a unique musical performance by singer Felupz, and the captivating closing with a musical performance by singer Rachel Reis. The event, which spanned over 10 hours of programming and attracted more than 4,000 spectators, extended the catwalk experience with the Feira da Sé (Sé Fair). With 19 participating brands and 24 stalls, the fair offered the public a variety of products and original creations, including clothing, accessories, and handicrafts. The event also featured a Kids' Area, with playful activities for children and creative workshops in the areas of fashion and entrepreneurship. Afro Fashion Day reaffirms itself as a vital platform for Afro-entrepreneurship, cultural appreciation, and representation, showcasing the talent of Black designers and models and reinforcing the importance of Black Beauty on the national stage.
