The partner team's linked Pokémon must also be placed in the event of a death. The last living pair cannot die. In the event of a team wipe, you revisit the last 5 routes and catch Pokémon. The first two Pokémon you encounter on the route are Soullinked. If the encounter is the same, the latter may reroll the encounter. The challenge is won upon final defeat of the "final boss." Gifted Pokémon count as separate encounters. Encounters you've already caught can be rerolled using the "Species Clause." Shiny Pokémon can always be caught. Your partner receives a special Pokémon at that point. Each Pokémon must be given a nickname if possible. The battle style is changed from "Switch" to "Follow." Only three healing items can be used per battle. If an opponent uses a healing item, you can also use one more. Only the first Pokémon can be caught per route/area. If you fail to catch the first Pokémon on the route, there is no second chance.
