Flood waters following Hurricane Ian attracted an increased number of mosquitos across the area. The University of Florida and INZECTO donate 8,000 traps to combat the problem. The traps are safe for the environment and easy to use. Simply fill with water and "set it and forget it." Effective for 90 days, the traps are expected to significantly reduce the mosquito population. This is important due to amount of diseases that mosquitos carry according to Clarissa Chairez, Residential Horticulture Agent with the University of Florida.
